By the Danish Fisheries Agency’s figures, around 60 percent of all fish landed in Denmark comes over the quay in Skagen. That makes the harbor the country’s largest fishing port, and around it sit FF Skagen’s fishmeal and fish-oil production, processing, and Karstensens Skibsværft, which has built ships here since 1917. Hygiene and safety requirements are strict in environments like those.
